Who We Are

sadi farmer in field

Our History:
SADI was founded by graduates from different institutions; Manor house agricultural centre, Kenyatta University, university of Nairobi and Sangalo institute of science and technology with an aim of supporting the community with sustainable agriculture trainings. It started as a self-help group in 2014 and later on registered as community based organization in 2019.

Our Extension System

SADI has a total of 4 staff and 5 volunteers who are well trained and committed from different colleges and universities that have enough knowledge and skills on sustainable agriculture practices and agriculture sensitive nutrition. At the moment we use bicycles and hired motorbikes for the staff to carry out extension services to the farmers. In total we have 26 farmer groups’ and 10 primary schools that we are working with. Our total farmers trained by end of 2019 was 761 small scale farmers and 211 – 4k club members from 10 schools.

In addition to our staff, model farmers are also used as the TOTs for other farmers. They are taken through intensive trainings especially on the technical and advanced trainings and facilitated with training materials to go and train other farmers while the staffs follow up to check on the quality of the trainings conducted by the model farmers.
